Common Michigan Stinging Insects
Knowing what you're dealing with is the first step. Our technicians are experts at identifying Michigan’s most aggressive stinging pests to ensure the right treatment is applied.
Yellow Jackets
Aggressive ground-nesters. Often ruin backyard BBQs and can sting repeatedly.
Bald-Faced Hornets
Large, grey, football-shaped aerial nests. Extremely protective and aggressive.
Paper Wasps
Umbrella-shaped nests under shutters and rooflines. Common residential nuisance.
The "Bee" Question
Wasp vs. Honeybee Removal
It is common for homeowners to mistake honeybees for wasps. Because honeybees are vital to our Detroit ecosystem, we prioritize conservation.
Note: If you have a protected Honeybee colony, we can provide referrals for local Detroit beekeepers who specialize in live relocation.
Signs You Have a Wasp Nest
- Visible grey, papery structures
- High traffic near eaves or holes in the ground
- Buzzing sounds coming from inside walls
- Increased activity during late summer months
Our 3-Step Removal Process
How We Guarantee a Wasp-Free Space
Eliminating a stinging insect infestation requires more than just a spray bottle. Our Detroit-based team uses a systematic, science-based approach to identify the species, neutralize the immediate threat, and apply a structural barrier that prevents new colonies from following the same pheromone trails back to your home.
1. Instant Colony Knockdown
We utilize professional-grade, EPA-approved knockdown agents to neutralize the colony on contact. This prevents "aggressive swarming" behavior, ensuring the safety of your home family, pets, and customers immediately upon our arrival.
2. Extraction
Once the colony is neutralized, we physically remove the nest from your eaves, trees, or siding. By extracting the physical structure, we remove the pheromones (scent trails) that attract new queens to the same nesting site later in the season.
3. Long-Term Wasp Prevention
We apply a residual liquid or dust barrier to the nesting site to prevent any returning foragers from rebuilding.

FAQs
Still Have Questions About Our Wasp, Bee, and Nest Removal Solutions?
Find quick answers to our most commonly asked questions about our stinging insect control and elimination services in Detroit, MI.
Yes. Our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach utilizes advanced baiting systems that are virtually odorless, have low toxicity to non-targeted animals, and produce no airborne particles.
For the vast majority of our services (Ants, Spiders, Rodents, Wasps), you do not need to leave your home. You can simply hang out in a different room while we work. The only exceptions are specialized treatments like full-home Bed Bug Heat Remediation or certain heavy-infestation Roach clean-outs, where we will provide you with a clear schedule in advance.
We pride ourselves on fast local response times. Most standard service requests are fulfilled within 24–48 hours. For urgent issues like an active hornet’s nest near an entrance or a sudden bed bug discovery, we offer emergency same-day or next-day priority scheduling.
No. Our process includes more than just knocking down the nest; we treat the area with a residual repellent and clean the surface to remove the pheromones (scent trails) left behind by the colony. This discourages new queens from choosing that exact spot to build a nest in the future.
Honeybees are fuzzy, rounder, and typically less aggressive. Honeybees are vital pollinators and protected in Michigan. Wasps and Hornets are smoother, have "pinched" waists, and can sting multiple times. If you have protected Honeybees, we can refer you to a local Detroit beekeeper for live relocation. If they are Wasps or Hornets, we handle the elimination, removal, and prevention.
Yes. However, it is vital that you do not plug the hole with caulk or foam before we arrive. If you block their exit, the insects will often chew their way inward to find a new way out, leading them directly into your living room or bedrooms. We use pressurized dusts to neutralize these "hidden" colonies safely from the outside.
Yes. We strictly adhere to safety regulations, requiring 24-hour notification prior to the application of any specialized liquid or aerosol materials.
If you are not completely satisfied with a regular treatment, we will return to re-treat the area at no additional cost. Should issues persist, we will continue to work until resolved, or refund your last monthly payment, provided that established maintenance and sanitation requirements are met.
Invoices are sent on the first of each month and are due upon receipt.
